On June 8, the Government of Alberta began distributing non-medical face masks to Albertans as part of its COVID-19 relaunch strategy. These masks are available through corporate partners A&W, McDonald’s and Tim Hortons locations with drive-thrus. Government is working with municipalities without easy access to one of the drive-thrus, First Nations communities, Metis Settlements, and locl agencies to get masks to Alberta. This is a Government of Alberta program.
– The masks are not mandatory; they are an option for situations where maintaining a physical distance of two meters is not possible. These are non-medical face masks and are suitable for use in situations like public transit and grocery shopping. Every Albertan is eligible for an allotment of four masks. Visit alberta.ca/masks for more information.
The Village of Girouxville have received masks for Girouxville residents and are ready for pickup at the Village Office during regular business hours.
