Fire Advisory

Due to the recent and continued rain fall, we have moved from a Fire Restriction to a fire advisory is in effect for the MD of Smoky River. The fire advisory is in place as a precautionary measure. There could be cured grass present in areas which increases the wildfire hazard when conditions are right.

Under this advisory:

– New permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis.

– Campfires are allowed in both designated campgrounds and random camping areas.

– Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited.

The fire advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve or further escalation is required.

If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE. Always check with https://albertafirebans.ca/

Please contact The Fire Chief @ (780) 837-0911, if you have any questions about this advisory.

Respectfully
Marcel Maure
Regional Fire Chief

Director of Emergency Management
Director of Protective Services
